When is it time to change your strings?!
So often, students inquire about when is the time to change strings on your instrument. Our fiddle/violin master, Jason Theiste, gives some helpful tips to watch for to help you know when it’s time!
1. If the string looks frayed or damaged in anyway then replace it.
2. If you bow an open string and the pitch rises and falls within the bow stroke then replace the strings.
3. Double stops (when you play two notes at the same time) become more difficult to play in tune if your strings need to be replaced.
